Club History

The Kiwanis Club of Bluffton was chartered as one of 7,700 clubs in 80 countries in May 2016. Our motto is "Serving the Children of the World".

On March 9th, the club was officially organized with 19 members. Two months later on May 11th, the club was officially charted with 28 members(See News item May 11th, 2016).  Club members completed a community survey in July of 2016 with regards to what our community needs in terms of services. A number of meetings have been held with the United Way of Lowcountry, Bluffton Self Help, Meals on Wheels, the Mayor and Town manager of Bluffton, and educators in the Beaufort County School District, local elementary schools and the new May River HS, as well as other organization. The club is in the early process of defining and starting a signiture service project related to a special needs childrens camp.
